Sensex down 50pts; Maruti, M&M decline

The Sensex is now recovering and is down just 50 points at 10,794.

Maruti Suzuki has plunged 6% to Rs 745. Mahindra & Mahindra and DLF have shed 5% each at Rs 417 and Rs 227, respectively.

Ranbaxy, Sterlite and Jaiprakash Associates have declined 4% each to Rs 174, Rs 367 and Rs 111, respectively.

BHEL, Sun Pharma, Larsen & Toubro, ONGC, Reliance Communications and Tata Power have slipped 3-4% each.

However, ACC has rallied 3.5% to Rs 634. Wipro has gained 2% at Rs 279.

The market breadth is fairly negative. Out of 2,538 stocks traded, 1,455 have declined and 969 have advanced. The rest remain unchanged.
