Sensex down 602pts; breadth extremely -ve

The Sensex is now down 602 points at 10,880.

Reliance Infrastrucuture has slumped 13% to Rs 550, and Reliance Communications has plunged 11.5% to Rs 238.

Larsen & Toubro has tumbled 10% to Rs 902, and Jaiprakash Associates has shed 9.5% at Rs 77.

Sterlite has dropped 8.7% to Rs 297. Tata Steel and ICICI Bank have slipped around 7.5% each to Rs 281 and Rs 414, respectively.

HDFC and BHEL have declined around 6.5% each to Rs 1,717 and Rs 1,392, respectively. Maruti is down 6% at Rs 676.

The market breadth is extremely negative - out of 2,485 stocks traded so far, 2,011 have declined, 425 have advanced and 49 are unchanged.
