Sensex down over 400pts; all index stocks in red

The Sensex is now down 416 points at 10,165.

Sterlite has slumped 9.5% to Rs 270. ICICI Bank and Reliance Communications have plunged 8% each to Rs 381 and Rs 238, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance Infrastructure have shed 7.5% each at Rs 69 and Rs 516, respectively.

NTPC and DLF have dropped nearly 7% each to Rs 154 and Rs 303, respectively. Maruti has tumbled nearly 6% to Rs 639.

BHEL and Bharti Airtel have slipped around 5.5% each to Rs 1,240 and Rs 692, respectively.

Tata Power has declined 5% to Rs 760. Grasim is down 4.7% at Rs 1,307.

All index stocks are in negative zone.

Out of 2,535 stocks traded so far, 1,549 have declined, 919 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
