Sensex ends 365pts higher

The Sensex has finally ended (provisional) at 17,008, up 365 points.

The NSE Nifty has finally ended (provisional) at 5,048, up 103 points.

The Sensex has extended gains to touch a high of 17,068. The index is now at 17,061, up 418 points.

The Nifty is at 5,059, up 119 points.

Reliance Infrastructure has surged 5.5% to Rs 1,364. SBI and ITC have advanced over 4.5% each to Rs 2,164 and Rs 259, respectively.

Reliance, TCS, Wipro and Mahindra & Mahindra have advanced over 3% each.

The market breadth is positive, out of 2,803 shares traded, 1,631 have advanced and 1,084 have declined so far on the BSE.

The BSE IT  index has increased 3%, followed by TECk and oil & gas indices, up over 2.5% each.
