Sensex ends down 232pts

The Sensex has ended (provisional) 232 points lower at 14,290.

The Sensex continues to languish in the red and is now at 14,212, down 310 points.

The BSE Realty has erased some of its losses and is now down around 6% at 3,192.

ACC has slipped 8% to Rs 762. Tata Steel has dropped 7% to Rs 387.

Hindalco, NTPC, Reliance Infrastructures and Jaiprakash Associates have advanced over 5% each to Rs 88, Rs 202, Rs 1,196 and  194, respectively.

Grasim, ONGC, DLF, Sterlite, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Communications, BHEL and Ranbaxy are up 2-5% each.

Tata Motors, Sun Pharma and SBI are up over 1% each at Rs 329, Rs 1,316 and Rs 1,686, respectively.

The market breadth is still negative, out of 2,635 shares traded so far, 2,109 have declined and 474 have advanced so far.
