Sensex ends up 86pts

The Sensex finally ended ( provisional) at 14,410, up 86 points.

Owing to buying in the power stocks the index has touched a high of 14,480, up 273 points from the day's low. The index is now 14,438, up 113 points.

The BSE Power index has advanced around 3% to 2,878.

Jaiprakash Associates has gained 5.27% at Rs 212.

Sun Pharma, Tata Motors and TCS have added around 4.5% each at Rs 1,341, Rs 357 and Rs 382, respectively.

Grasim Industries and ACC have advanced 3.3% each to Rs 2,303 and Rs 769, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructures, BHEL and Hindalco are up 2.5% each at Rs 1,259, Rs 2,198 and Rs 84, respectively.

HDFC Bank and HDFC are down 1% each at Rs 1,469 and Rs 2,330, respectively.

The market breadth is positive- out of 2,616 shares traded, 1,770 have advanced and 766 have declined so far on the BSE.
