Sensex firm; Reliance, ICICI Bank advance 4%

The Sensex continues to display firm trend, and is now up 206 points at 9,297.

Tata Motors and Reliance Infrastructure have surged 5% each to Rs 138 and Rs 545, respectively. Grasim has soared 4.7% to Rs 1,389.

TCS and Ranbaxy have rallied around 4% each to Rs 502 and Rs 217, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Reliance have gained 3.7% each at Rs 405 and Rs 1,334, respectively.

DLF and Wipro have advanced 3% each to Rs 144 and Rs 226, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications have advanced 2.7% each to Rs 274, Rs 645 and Rs 164, respectively.

SBI, Infosys, Tata Steel, Jaiprakash Associates, ONGC and HDFC Bank are up around 2% each.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,389 stocks traded so far, 1,455 have advanced, 834 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
