The Sensex opened 18 points lower at 10,258 amid mixed global cues. The index slipped to a low of 10,230, then rebounded and is now around the day's high at 10,306 - up 30 points.
Satyam has surged 4% to Rs 174. Mahindra & Mahindra has rallied 2.5% to Rs 304.
Sterlite and HDFC have gained 2% each at Rs 308 and Rs 1,662, respectively.
Hindalco and ACC have moved up 1.8% each to Rs 59 and Rs 515, respectively.
Larsen & Toubro has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 839. DLF and Ranbaxy have shed 1.3% each at Rs 292 and Rs 247, respectively.
Reliance Infrastructure and Maruti are down 1% each at Rs 659 and Rs 550, respectively.
