The Sensex has moved up after recovering from its decline in the initial hours. It is now at 14,398, up 74 points. The BSE benchmark had opened 52 points up at 14,376. It touched a high of 14,441, and then declined to a low of 14,207.
Jaiprakash Associates has gained nearly 4% at Rs 209.
TCS and Reliance Infra have advanced over 3% to Rs 378 and Rs 1,262, respectively.
Sun Pharma and Grasim have added 2.5% each at Rs 1,313 and Rs 2,281, respectively.
DLF, Hindalco and Reliance Communications have moved up nearly 2% each at Rs 323, Rs 83 and Rs 301, respectively.
ACC, Wipro and Tata Motors are up 1.5% each at Rs 755, Rs 382 and Rs 347, respectively.
Sterlite has declined over 2% at Rs 564.
ICICI Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra have slipped nearly 2% each at Rs 684 and Rs 691, respectively.
The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,464 shares, 1,557 has advanced and 834 has declined.
