The Sensex opened at 10,916 up 112 points, and touched a high of 10,994. The index thereafter dropped to a low of 10,800, and is now up 58 points at 10,861.
Tata Motors and Tata Steel are up over 4.5% each at Rs 236 and Rs 273, respectively.
HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank have advanced 3.5% each at Rs 1,086 and Rs 411, respectively.
Larsen & Toubro has declined 3% at Rs 804. Wipro, TCS and Bharti Airtel have fallen almost 2% each at Rs 270, Rs 592 and Rs 656, respectively.
