Sensex range-bound; auto majors slip

The Sensex today opened up 90 points at 11,092 owing to positve cues from the Asian markets. The index then gained strength and moved up to a high of 11,213.

The index, thereafter, is exhibiting range bound movement and is now up 164 points at 11,166.

ICICI Bank and HDFC have rallied 3.5% each to Rs 454 and Rs 1,727, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure, Infosys, Wipro and Reliance Communications are up around 3% each.

The other prominent gainers are DLF, TCS, Jaiprakash Associates, ONGC and Tata Power.

However, Tata Motors has declined 2% to Rs 228. Maruti Suzuki has shed 1% at Rs 792.
