Sensex recovers again, down 252pts

The Sensex has once again recovered partially from the day's low of 8,872, and is now down 252 points at 9,039.

Wipro has slumped 6.3% to Rs 236. ICICI Bank, ACC and NTPC have tumbled around 5% each to Rs 366, Rs 415 and Rs 144, respectively.

SBI has shed 4.5% at Rs 1,115. HDFC and Infosys have plunged over 4% each to Rs 1,435 and Rs 1,181, respectively.

Satyam, TCS, Sterlite and Tata Power have slipped nearly 4% each to Rs 242, Rs 499, Rs 219 and Rs 697, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates has dropped 3.5% at Rs 70. Mahindra & Mahindra and Bharti Airtel have declined 3% each to Rs 309 and Rs 645, respectively.

Tata Motors has surged 2.3% to Rs 144, and Tata Steel has gained 1.3% at Rs 169.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,400 stocks traded so far, 1,727 have declined, 599 have advanced and 74 are unchanged.
