Sensex recovers partially, down 177pts; DLF, Ranbaxy slip 4%

The Sensex opened with a negative gap of 274 points at 13,721. The index has soon recovered partially, and is now down 177 points at 13,818.

DLF and Ranbaxy have plunged nearly 4% each to Rs 405 and Rs 334, respectively. Wipro has slumped 3.5% to Rs 400.

ICICI Bank, Satyam and BHEL have dropped around 2.5% each to Rs 618, Rs 344 and Rs 1,643, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Jaiprakash Associates have slipped around 2% each to Rs 791 and Rs 128, respectively.

HDFC has declined 1.7% to Rs 2,286. Infosys is down 1.5% at Rs 1,603.

Sterlite and ACC have advanced over 1% each to Rs 466 and Rs 631, respectively.
