Sensex slips into red

The Sensex has plunged into negative terrain after trading positively before. The index is now at 14,219, down 47 points.

Tata Steel has rallied 3.5% to Rs 403. Tata Motors has surged over 3% to  Rs 339.

Infosys, Larsen & Toubro and Reliance Infrastructure have gained around 2.5% each at Rs 1,764, Rs 1,450 and Rs 1,230 respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates, TCS and BHEL have added nearly 2% each at Rs 195, Rs 387 and Rs 2,068, respectively.

NTPC has declined over 3% to RS 196.

ACC has shed 2.5% to Rs 739. ONGC and Mahindra & Mahindra have slipped nearly 2% each to Rs 990 and Rs 725, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,558 shares traded, 1447 have declined, 1029 have advanced.
