Sensex slips into red; TCS drops 4%

The NSE Nifty is down 34 points at 3,827.

Ranbaxy has zoomed over 11% to Rs 456. Bharti Airtel has surged 2.7% to Rs 729.

ITC, Hindustan Unilever and ONGC have gained around 2% each at Rs 164, Rs 216 and Rs 861, respectively.

HDFC and Cipla have moved up 1.7% each to Rs 1,825 and Rs 210, respectively.

Ambuja Cements and HDFC Bank are up over 1% each at Rs 81 and Rs 926, respectively.

DLF has slumped 6.5% to Rs 400. TCS and Mahindra & Mahindra have plunged 3.7% each to Rs 722 and Rs 503, respectively.

Tata Motors has shed 3.5% at Rs 390. ACC and Wipro have slipped over 2% each to Rs 515 and Rs 369, respectively.

Reliance Communications, Jaiprakash Associates and Tata Steel have dropped 1.7% each to Rs 399, Rs 143 and Rs 636, respectively.

Satyam is down 1.5% at Rs 392.

Out of 2,552 stocks traded, 1,637 have declined, 833 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
