The Sensex is steadied around the current levels and is now up 145 points at 9,048.
HDFC Bank, ONGC and ICICI Bank have soared around 4.5% each to Rs 870, Rs 710 and Rs 337, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates and Sterlite have surged over 4% each to Rs 60 and Rs 224, respectively.
Tata Power and Wipro have rallied 3.7% each to Rs 678 and Rs 242, respectively. Reliance Infrastructure has added 3.5% to Rs 522.
BHEL, Satyam and Hindalco has moved up 2.7% each to Rs 1,337, Rs 236 and Rs 53, respectively.
DLF, NTPC, Bharti Airtel and Tata Motors have gained around 2% each at Rs 195, Rs 156, Rs 649 and Rs 136, respectively.
Reliance Communications and Larsen & Toubro are up nearly 2% each at Rs 210 and Rs 773, respectively.
Ranbaxy, however, has slipped 3% to Rs 207.
