Sensex up 138pts in early trades

The Sensex today opened up 28 points at 14,374. It surged 182 points to touch a high 14,526 and is now up 138 points at 14,483.

DLF and ICICI Bank have gained 2.5% each at Rs 325 and Rs 716, respectively.

Wipro and Sterlite have added 2.3% each to Rs 383 and Rs 590, respectively. Larsen & Toubro, NTPC, Tata Power, Hindalco, Reliance Communications and Infosys advanced 2% each.

Reliance, ACC, BHEL, HDFC Bank, ONGC, SBI, Bharti Airtel, ITC and Tata Motors are up around 1% each.

However, Sun Pharma has crashed 16% to Rs 1,094. HDFC and Ranbaxy have slipped 1% each.
