Sensex up 167pts; breadth marginally +ve

The NSE Nifty is up 55 points at 5,055.

Bharti Airtel has zoomed 6.5% to Rs 899. Reliance Communications has soared nearly 5% to Rs 559.

Wipro has surged 2.3% to Rs 460, and HDFC Bank has rallied 2% to Rs 1,475.

SBI and HDFC have moved up 1.8% each to Rs 1,713 and Rs 2,635, respectively.

NTPC, Satyam and ICICI Bank are up over 1% each at Rs 193, Rs 445 and Rs 887, respectively.

DLF has slipped over 2% to Rs 660, and Jaiprakash Associates has shed 1.8% at Rs 242.

The market breadth is marginally positive - out of 2,424 stocks traded so far, 1,257 have advanced, 1,107 have declined and 60 are unchanged.
