Sensex up 240pts; Nifty at 9-month high
The Sensex today opened 120 points higher at 14,746. It surged to a high of 14,907. The index is moving sidewards and is now at 14,864, up 239 points.
Nifty has touched the 9-month high and is now at 4,533, up nearly 2%.
Reliance Communication has surged 6% to Rs 324. DLF has soared 4% to Rs 420.
Sun Pharma , ACC and Tata Steel have advanced 4% each to Rs 1,245, Rs 808 and Rs 417, respectively.
HDFC, Jaiprakash Associates , Reliance Infrastructures, Grasim, NTPC and ICICI Bank are up 2% each.
Tata Motors, Ranbaxy, Sterlite, Maruti, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bhel and Tata Power have gained over 1.7% each.
The market breadth is extremely positive, out of 2,267 shares traded, 1,898 have advanced and only 330 have declined so far on the BSE.
