The Sensex slipped owing to selling in auto stocks.The index dropped to a low of 14,430 and is now at 14,453, up 31 points.
Sterlite and Grasim have added 3% each to Rs 589 and Rs 2,388, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates, Hindalco and HDFC have gained over 2% each at Rs 218, Rs 86 and Rs 2,358, respectively.
ICICI Bank, Reliance Communications, Bharti Airtel and DLF are the other major gainers.
Tata Motors has slipped 3% to Rs 346.
Mahindra & Mahindra, ONGC and Maruti have dropped over 1.5% each to Rs 710, Rs 1,030 and Rs 1,043, respectively.
The market breadth is positive, out of 2,363 shares traded, 1,557 have advanced and 726 have declined.
