Sensex up 40pts; breadth -ve

 Gujarat Ambuja, HDFC and Satyam are down over 1% each to Rs 119, Rs 1,730 and Rs 462, respectively.

Bajaj Auto has rallied 1.5% to Rs 2,474. Wipro, TCS, SBI, Grasim, ICICI Bank, Maruti and HLL are up over 1% each to Rs 563, Rs 1,236, Rs 1,153, Rs 2,469, Rs 972, Rs 797 and Rs 213, respectively.

Out of 2,593 stocks traded so far, 1,490 have declined, 1,028 have advanced and 75 are unchanged.
