Fresh positions pushed prices higher

Amid a firming trend in global markets, silver futures prices today moved up by 0.17% to Rs 55,015 per kg as speculators created fresh positions.
At the MCX, silver for delivery in July rose by Rs 92, or 0.17%, to Rs 55,015 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,466 lots.
The September contract traded higher by Rs 79, or 0.14%, to Rs 56,340 per kg, with a trade volume of 93 lots.
Globally, silver rose 0.17% to $28.79 an ounce in Singapore in early trade today.
Market analysts said reports of a firming trend in precious metals overseas mainly influenced silver futures here.
