Soda ash rises on rising demand

Soda ash prices rose by Rs 50 per 50 kg in the national capital today largely on the back of increased demand from consuming units amid tight stocks.

Soda ash (Tata, Gujarat, DCM and Birla) prices rose by Rs 50 each to settle at Rs 975 and Rs 950, each, per 50 kg, respectively.

Elsewhere, prices moved in a narrow range on small bouts of trading and held at previous levels.

Marketmen said increased demand from consuming units against tight stocks, mainly pushed up soda ash prices on the wholesale chemical market here.
