Software, banking shares raise sentiments marginally

Benchmark share indices ended marginally higher in the truncated trading week ended March 28, led by software shares and a rebound in shares of private banks after the sharp correction last week. In the 2012-13 financial year, the 30-share Sensex ended 8.2 per cent higher, while the 50-share Nifty ended up 7.3 per cent.

Three of the six fund managers remained active during the week. All the fund managers, except Kishor Ostwal, managed to remain above Rs 10 lakh for the week. (Click for tables)

Prabhakar made a single addition to his portfolio in the form of HSIL. Currently his portfolio consists of Dr Reddy's Laboratories, SKS Microfinance, Pfizer, HSIL and Natco Pharma.Prabhakar's net worth was marginally up by 0.12 per cent at Rs 10.01 lakh.

SHARDUL KULKARNI
Head, Technical Research, Angel Broking
Kulkarni, too, made some value by buying into Escorts during the week. Titan Industries, BOC India, Bharat Petroleum Corp, Shree Renuka Sugars and NTPC are his top holdings. Kulkarni's net worth has improved to Rs 11.40 lakh, up 14.01 per cent.

NAVEEN FERNANDES
Fund Manager, Centrum Wealth
After remaining inactive for weeks, Fernandes added a series of stocks-Hindustan Zinc, NMDC, Siemens and Engineers India. Meanwhile, he booked profits in ITC.

His top holdings include Karur Vysya Bank, MRF, ITC, Nesco and Hindustan Zinc.

Fernandes' net worth, too, improved a tad better to Rs 10.91 lakh, up 9.12 per cent.

KISHOR OSTWAL
CMD, CNI Research
Ostwal's net worth slipped and is at Rs 9.64 lakh, down 3.56 per cent.

SACHIN SHAH
Fund Manager, Emkay Investment Managers
Shah's net worth is at Rs 10.61 lakh, up 6.11 per cent.

TAHER BADSHAH
Sr VP and co-head equities, Motilal Oswal AMC - PMS
Badshah's net worth is at Rs 11.25 lakh, up 12.47 per cent.
