Sugar firms up on better demand
Sugar prices firmed up at the Vashi Wholesale market here today on pick up in the demand from stockists and bulk traders amidst good retail offtake.
Small sugar quality (S-30) moved up by Rs 16/20 per quintal to Rs 2,851/2,882 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 2,831/2,866.
Medium sugar quality (M-30) also gained by Rs 10/20 per quintal to Rs 2,881/2,931 as compared to Rs 2,861/2,921 last weekend.
