Sugar recovers on better demand
Sugar prices recovered moderately at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to higher offtake from stockists and traders amidst ongoing festivities.
Small sugar quality (S-30) rose by Rs 26/30 per quintal to Rs 2,726/2,761 from overnight closing level of Rs 2,700/ 2,731.
Medium sugar quality (M-30) also firmed up by Rs 16/20 per quintal to Rs 2,746/2,821, as against Rs 2,730/2,801 yesterday.
