Sugar recovers on fresh buying
Sugar prices recovered on the Vashi wholesale market here today due to fresh stockist buying amid restricted arrivals from mills.
Medium sugar quality (M-30) firmed up by Rs 20/10 per quintal to Rs 2,810/2,880 from Saturday's closing level of Rs 2,790/2,870.
Small sugar quality (S-30) showed a mixed trend and was quoted at Rs 2,760/2,815 per quintal as against Rs 2,750/2,820 previously.
The following are today's closing rates per quintal, with previous rates in brackets.
Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2760/2815 (Rs 2750/2820) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2810/2880 (Rs 2790/2870).
