Tata Group shares in focus; Tata Metaliks, Tata Sponge up over 10%

Shares of select Tata Group companies have rallied by up to 19% on the bourses in intra-day trade on back of heavy volumes.
Tata Metaliks, Tata Sponge Iron and Tinplate Company have surged more than 10% each, while, Tata Investment Corporation, TRF and Tata Chemicals gain between 5% and 8% on the BSE.

Tata Elxsi, Tata Power Company, Rallis India, Tata Coffee and Tata Motors were up in the range of 1% to 3% as compared to 0.56% rise in the S&P BSE Sensex.
Among the individual stocks, Tata Metaliks has surged 19% to Rs 373 on the BSE in intra-day trade. The trading volumes on the counter jumped more than six-fold with a combined 3.49 million shares changed hands on the BSE and NSE so far.
Tata Sponge Iron has soared 15% to Rs 605 on BSE. A combined 1.35 million shares changed hands so far against an average sub 50,000 shares that were traded daily in past two weeks on both the exchanges.
Since October 24, stocks of major Tata Group companies fell by up to 30% till Monday, after Cyrus Mistry was removed as chairman of India’s largest conglomerate.
