The stock is now trading at Rs 1,120, up 2% from the previous close.

Tata Power posted a 27% surge in net profit after statutory appropriations of Rs 1,264 crore for the year ended March 31, 2009 as compared to Rs 996.48 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008.
Total income soared 59% to Rs 18,151.47 crore from Rs 11,413.77 crore in the previous year.
