The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex closed 24.07 points higher at 3,607.13 on Monday. The Sensex had last closed at this level on March 18, 2002.
At the National Stock Exchange, the S&P CNX Nifty index gained 8.60 points to close at 1,134.15.
Pharma and technology sectors were the flavour of the day. However, Infosys closed 2.09 per cent lower at Rs 3,264.85. It company will announce its Q1 results on July 19, 2003. Over 2.74 lakh Infosys shares were traded on the BSE.

Among the others, HCL Technologies was up 2.08 per cent at Rs 154.55, Satyam Computer gained 1.16 per cent at Rs 192.35, while Tata Infotech was up 8.68 per cent at Rs 182.80 on sustained buying support, after the company announced impressive results last week.
i-flex solutions also rose 5.10 per cent to Rs 1,021.30 ahead of the company
