Pune-based industrial energy solutions provider Thermax has gained 2.5% at Rs 1,170 on the NSE (National Stock Exchange) after posting increase of 13% in its net profit at Rs 76.2 crore as compared to Rs 67 crore last year for the third quarter ended on December 31, 2014.

The stock opened at Rs 1,170 and touched a high of Rs 1,201 on NSE. A combined nearly 30,000 shares changed hands on the counter till 1135 hours on NSE and BSE.

The revenue for the quarter increased by 13% at Rs 1,147 crore from Rs 1,014 crore last quarter last year. However, its order intake dropped 10% year-on-year to Rs 1,228 crore during October-December quarter as compared to Rs 1,365 crore for the same quarter.

"The drop in order booking was attributable to the domestic segment where enquiry inflow and finalisation remained subdued," Thermax said in a statement.
