Top seven cos add Rs 1,03,803 cr in mcap; TCS, HUL shine

Boosted by upsurge in the market value of IT major TCS, total market capitalisation (m-cap) of top seven companies surged by Rs 1,03,803 crore last week.

The m-cap of TCS zoomed by Rs 26,579 crore to Rs 3,40,928 crore as its shares jumped 8.45% on better than expected results last week.

Reliance Industries, ITC, ONGC, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever and Bharti Airtel also saw gains up to Rs 18,419 crore in their respective market values.

FMCG major HUL was the second biggest gainer among top 10 Sensex companies of BSE, as its market value surged Rs 18,419 crore to Rs 1,48,431 crore.

ONGC added Rs 17,111 crore to Rs 2,70,610 crore in its valuation, while ITC saw a surge of Rs 15,171 crore to Rs 2,91,577 crore last week.

The m-cap of Bharti Airtel soared by Rs 13,192 crore to Rs 1,31,934 crore, while RIL's value jumped Rs 10,859 crore to Rs 2,98,776 crore and Infosys witnessed a spurt of Rs 2,472 crore to Rs 1,63,416 crore.

In contrast, the m-cap of mortgage lender HDFC slipped Rs 7,185 crore to Rs 1,24,555 crore, while HDFC Bank's value plunged Rs 3,247 crore to Rs 1,62,537 crore.

The m-cap of CIL tanked Rs 2,368 crore to Rs 1,87,122 crore.

TCS was at the top of 10 most valued Sensex companies, followed by Reliance Industries and ITC at second and third place respectively.
