Tractor stocks in focus; M&M surges 5%

Escorts surged 8% to Rs 115 and HMT by 4% to Rs 39 on the BSE.

Shares of tractor companies were in focus and trading higher by up to 7% on the BSE after the India Meteorological Department said the monsoon is likely to remain strong through the month of June.

Among the individual stocks, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) soared 5% to Rs 1,309, while Escorts surged 8% to Rs 115 and HMT by 4% to Rs 39 on the BSE.

VST Tillers Tractors was trading flat at Rs 1,349 after hitting high of Rs 1,390 on the BSE in intra-day trade. These companies’ prospects are dependent on a good rain.
