UP sweetener for sugar stocks

Almost all sugar stocks surged today on the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP)sweeping the elections in Uttar Pradesh, the country's sugar pot.

Bajaj Hindusthan, the largest sugar company having main production facilities in the state, recorded nearly 8 per cent rise in share prices. Balrampur Chini Mills, the second largest sugar maker, witnessed 10 per cent surge in its share prices in a volatile market.
