The benchmark BSE Sensex on Monday ended at 29,910, surpassing its previous all-time high of 29,682 (on a closing basis) on January 29, 2015. The index went through a V-shaped journey in the past two years. It plunged 23 per cent between January 29, 2015, and February 11, 2016, mainly on concerns surrounding global growth, led by China. The Indian markets saw a sharp recovery following the Union Budget in February 2016. The Sensex has rallied 30 per cent in the past 13 months.
