A Gurgaon court today turned down a plea for anticipatory bail filed by Veritas analyst Nitin Mangal.
"The court has rejected his anticipatory bail today," a senior company official said.
Mangal had sought bail after the Gurgaon police issued summons for a personal appearance on
August 27 acting on a complaint filed by Indiabulls group. Mangal along with Canada-based Neeraj Monga had written a scathing report on governance practices and alleged irregularities by Indiabulls promoters.
Indiabulls filed police complaints in Gurgaon and Mumbai saying these reports were baseless and published with an intent of profiteering.
Mangal said, he was a consultant and not an employee of Veritas.
