Zinc prices down by 0.31% to 112.40 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their exposures, tracking a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in August declined by 35 paise, or 0.31%, to Rs 112.40 per kg in business turnover of 832 lots.
Likewise, zinc for delivery in the September shed 30 paise, or 0.26%, to Rs 113.60 per kg in 34 lots.
Analysts said the weakness in zinc at futures trade was mostly attributed to a subdued global trend in the entire base metals on speculations that Federal Reserve may reduce its bond purchases this year, reducing demand for base metals.
