Historical drama '12 Years a Slave' has received 9 nominations in all major categories at the Academy Awards 2014.
Amongst the nominations, Chiwetel Ejiofor will compete with nominees like Tom Hanks, Leonardo Di Caprio and Christian Bale for the Best Actor Category, while Lupita Nyong'o has also landed a nomination in the Best Actress Category, Universal India Pictures reported.
Michael Fassbender has been nominated in the Best supporting actor category and Steve McQueen too scored a nomination in the Best Director category.
The nominations were announced from Beverly Hills, California by Academy President Cheryl Boone-Isaacs and Chris Hemsworth.
