Fourteen ministers of the state cabinet submitted their resignation papers to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to ahead of cabinet re-shuffle.
"This was a high command order and we followed it, that's it. Our 14 ministers have resigned," former sports minister Ajit Singh said after giving his resignation.
Not all the ministers were present at the chief minister's residence where the meeting took place.
The new ministers in the cabinet are scheduled to be sworn in on January 23. Gogoi had made many visits to Delhi last year, following the reshuffling of his cabinet.
