A 14-year old girl, who was allegedly gang raped by five men of her village, set herself ablaze in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura District on Tuesday.
The teen was allegedly gang raped on Sunday in Kosi Kalan. The family of the victim tried to hush up the matter, but the victim set herself on fire inside her home.
"The girl has been admitted to the hospital with burns. According to her father, five men of the village gang raped her," said Lakshmi Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Agra Range).
"She was screaming for help," said one eyewitness.
The girl, has sustained 70 per cent burn injuries and is battling for her life at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital.
The police has arrested the five accused, including a minor and filed a case of rape against them.
