The 18th SAARC Summit has concluded with all partipating leaders agreeing to a 36-point Kathmandu Declaration Letter.
The details of the Declaration Letter are yet to be known, reports Kantipur Online.
Before the Kathmandu Declaration Letter was announced, there was a concluding ceremony, which was attended by the heads of state and government of the SAARC member countries.
They had earlier taken part in a retreat at the Dwarikas Resort in Dhulikhel in Kavre District, which is about 20 kilomters from Kathmandu.
All the VVIPs, except Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, were flown by Nepal Army helicopters. Modi flew on an Indian Air Force helicopter which he brought with himself in Kathmandu.
Prime Ministers Modi and Nawaz Sharif shook hands at the closing moments of the SAARC conclusion ceremony onthe podium at City Hall. It was earlier reported that this interaction had taken place in Dhulikhel.
Mnisters of the SAARC member states signed agreements on energy cooperation along the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the regional summit.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Nepali Prime Minister Sushil Koirala announced that the next Saarc Summit would be held in Islamabad after two years.
