One Direction star Louis Tomlinson is set to become UK's youngest football club owner ever with the singer almost having finalised a deal to own Doncaster Rovers.

The club's lifelong fan has agreed to takeover the side after the Rovers were relegated to League One in May.

According to the Daily Star, Tomlinson and former chairman John Ryan tabled the multi-million pound bid on Thursday where a meeting between representatives took place, and the 22-year-old is currently set to become co-chairman of the club, even though Ryan would effectively be running proceedings.

Speculations were reportedly rife that the negotiations would be finalised this week, but are now expected to be confirmed on Wednesday.

Tomlinson, who came on as a substitute against Rotherham United where over 4,000 people came to watch, will take over the side after playing for the team in February, the report added.
