Brazil's 2014 World Cup mascot, Fuleco, has been slammed by critics for bumping and grinding with scantily clad women.
The armadillo, which has come under fire for his raunchy moves, was initially criticized as the selection for the mascot, as the species is threatened with extinction in the wild because of hunting and loss of habitat, News.com.au reported.
The critics had said that even preparing for the soccer tournament itself has destroyed some areas the creature calls home and also believe that the World Cup publicity may lead people to adopt the cute animals as pets, putting their dwindling numbers under further pressure.
According to the official FIFA website, Fuleco "is really sociable, loves dancing and all types of music" and says Brazilian music is his favourite, while the mascot says that he has special dance moves to celebrate Brazil's unique rhythm and encourage kids inspired by the Samba.
