Twenty one members of banned CPI (Maoist)'s militia have surrendered before Visakhapatnam Rural Police.
The militia members told the police yesterday that they are giving up arms as they were disillusioned with the Maoist way of life.
"As many as 21 Maoists sympathisers cum militia members, militants have surrendered before the district police. We have arrested as many as five militia members from Galikonda area of Visakhapatnam," said Superintendent of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal.
