The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Ampas) has revealed that 289 feature films have qualified for the 2013 best picture Oscar.
'12 Years a Slave,' 'American Hustle' and 'Gravity' are among the top contenders to be shortlisted for the top award, the BBC reported.
The nominations are going to be announced on January 16 with the Academy Awards being held on March 2.
Ampas published the full list of films put forward on its website, which includes other likely award nominees Captain Philips, Philomena and Nebraska.
The list also includes films like 'After Earth,' 'Fast and Furious 6,' 'Grown Ups 2,' 'Diana' and One Direction documentary, 'This Is Us.
