6.3 magnitude quake jolts Iran-Iraq border

An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale jolted the Iran-Iraq border area on Sunday.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake struck 20 kilometres southwest of Sarpol-e Zahab city at around 4:37 pm (UTC). The temblor was situated at a depth of 10 kilometres.

The tremors of the quake were felt in Iraq and Kuwait. However, there are no reports of damage and casualties.
