Tall English paceman Stuart Broad is set to cut down to size his equally towering New Zealand counterpart Peter Fulton during the first Test at Lord's on Thursday.

It will be a great advantage for England in the form of the 6ft 5 inch Broad who is one of the few bowlers in their squad who can look the 6 ft 6 inch Fulton into the eye and try to knock him off his stride at Lord's, the Mirror reports.

The report further said that although normally it is the bowler towering over the batsman, but in Fulton's case, he sniffs rarefied air at two metres up, which can cause problems for a bowler's length.

According to Broad, it is an advantage for a tall bowler while delivering to batsmen with different heights, although the bowling should not affect the pace of the bowler himself.

However, Broad said that the only difference with Fulton is that especially on New Zealand wickets, he seems to hit them for four through the leg side.

But Broad is out to set the tone right from the off and get his team hitting new heights this year, saying that their team is focused and determined to put a good show with their performances and make sure that the manage to get and retain a hold on the first three days.

Broad further said that the performance of a player is all about getting back to basics, putting up a good first innings score or bowling tightly in the first innings.
