Pakistan's Frontier Corps personnel on Saturday arrested at least eight Afghanistan nationals during the ongoing counter-terrorism operations being conducted by the force in restive Balochistan province.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military, said the Afghan nationals have been held for staying illegally and several weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from them.
"FC Balochistan conducted IBOs in Sambaza, Sibbi, Hazar Ganji areas. 16 suspects arrested including 8 illegal Afghan refugees. Weapons and ammunition including grenades, IEDs, rockets, explosive recovered," a statement by the ISPR read.
According to the Pakistan officials, counter-terrorism operations have been underway in Balochistan and other parts of the tribal regions of the country.
