The Airports Authority of India (AAI), the mainstay of Civil Aviation in the country, celebrated its 22nd Annual Day at the Siri Fort Auditorium here.
Civil Aviation Minister P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju was the chief guest.Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha was the guest of honour.
The vibrant evening of music and celebration was followed by the launch of the corporate plan of AAI by Mr.Gajapathi Raju, in the presence of Mr. Sinha and Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra, Chairman, AAI, besides other dignitaries.
The launch followed felicitation of AAI achievers in their respective fields by the chief guest. The awards were given by Mr. Gajapathi Raju, who commended the performance and achievements by various teams/airports on the basis of ACI and CSI survey ratings.
Mr.Gajapathi Raju also complimented the AAI family on fulfilling its role assigned towards nation building by way of providing safe, secure and affordable flying resulting in India in becoming the fifth largest aviation market in the world.
Mr.Sinha asserted that the AAI has been instrumental in implementation of various government schemes like Make in India, Swaach Bharat, e-Governance, NCAP, Air Sewa and RCS-UDAN.
R.N. Choubey, Secretary, Civil Aviation, conveyed his best wishes through a message which was read out during the event. Secretary (CA) applauded the achievements of AAI in implementation of Regional Connectivity Scheme, Air Sewa initiatives and launch of AAI Cargo Logistics and Allied Services Ltd. (AAICLAS).
Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra, IAS, Chairman, AAI expressed his satisfaction on achieving great heights of success globally by AAI and was also proud in saying that an interim dividend of Rs 560 crores paid to the Government and getting through Rs 10,000 crores revenue mark has literally reaffirmed his confidence to become one of the World leaders in Aviation in times to come.
After the official programme, the stage was open for Live Performance by renowned Singer - Performer Shaan which was enjoyed by all.
