Aamir Khan hopes for 'drought-free Maharashtra' in next five years

Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan, on the Independence Day, said he dreams to have a drought-free Maharashtra in the next five years and hailed Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for his initiatives towards that.

"We dream to have a drought-free Maharashtra in next five years. We are lucky that Maharashtra now has got such a Chief Minister who is determined to resolve the water crisis issue here. The political will is so strong now that I hope the dream will be fulfilled," Khan told media here during 'Satyamev Jayate Water Cup Awards 2016,' which was held to acclaim water harvesting efforts of various villages.

The event saw the presence of Fadnavis, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, Aamir's wife Kiran Rao and the team of his's popular TV show 'Satyamev Jayate.'

For the unversed, the 51-year-old actor along with Kiran and his 'Satyamev Jayate' team have formed 'Paani Foundation,' which works in association with the state government to fight the prevailing water crisis.

Further talking about the show, the 'PK' actor said, "Satyamev Jayate is not coming on TV as the team is busy working for the Paani Foundation. We are sure that we will achieve our goal sometime soon."

On the related note, the Supreme Court, last month, dismissed the petition filed against Aamir and his production house for allegedly using the national emblem in an improper manner in 'Satyamev Jayate' and making "commercial gains" out of it.
